Salvage Station 16 was a group project I did with 2 other game designers in my class.
We were tasked with using assets from the unity asset store and using the knowledge gained through our classes to make a short game with a gameplay mechanic and a small amount of narrative.
I worked on the level design and narrative. I started on paper and determined where in the ship the player would travel, what they would find, and how the pathways were shaped.
I decided to design the levels with small hallways connecting larger rooms that the player had to explore and clear debris from.
The last level is a large area that has been separated via large pieces of debris, this created an implicit narrative and added tension to the scene, since the player was timed on how fast they could exit the ship.
